Matt Jones Avoids Going To Trial

This season is just full of surprises. No, I am not talking about Matt Jones’s drug convictions (or lack there of) but the fact that Jones is actually the best performing wide receiver this season. Actually. No. I am talking about Matt Jones’s drug convictions (or lack there of).

Instead of going to trial, Matt Jones did what will probably benefit him in the end: he agreed to go to a drug intervention program. I say this will probably benefit him more because in a trial, he could be declared guilty and spend some time in jail. However, this isn’t a get out of jail free card for Matt. Part of this agreement has him in 136 hours of group therapy and 30 hours of community service over the next nine months. He will also be subjected to at least 78 random drug tests.

The NFL is looking into whether or not Jones should be suspended for this charge.
