Fred Taylor Only Needs 72 Yards To Hit 11,000
How awesome is Fred Taylor?
Super awesome.
However, he hasn’t been able to show case himself much this season. The Jaguars don’t have an air game to worry about so people stack the box. With the offensive line stocking second stringers, the run game hasn’t had a leg to stand on. Fred Taylor’s best game so far was against the Colts and they don’t have any run defense to speak of.
That doesn’t mean he isn’t any less awesome. He will be a key component in the game against the Steelers. Why? Well, Fred Taylor is the Steelers’ kryptonite. He has running records at both Heinz Field and Three Rivers Stadium.
And all he needs is 72 to hit a milestone: 11,00 career yards.
To put that in perspective, O.J Simpson had 11,236 career yards. Freddy will catch him by seasons end and will be chasing after Jim Brown’s record: 12,312 yards.
As if the game would not be interesting enough, this added bit of history is a nice story to add into it.

Super Awesome until he breaks a leg, a hamstring or toe. He’s useless. Never plays a full season, and he can’t handle the grind of the game.
October 2nd, 2008 at 10:10 pmMan, I don’t know what your beef is with Freddy T. 11,000 yards and he can’t handle the grind of the game? Gimme a break. Hmm. I wonder how get got all those yards? Oh yeah. He hasn’t missed a significant amount of time since 2001.

Also, he is super awesome to Jaguar fans. He is a star in our history books and he is making a name for himself in the NFL history books as well.
