Groves Signed To Contract, Harvey Still Holding Out

Posted by: Jeanne

With Jaguars reporting to camp today, Quentin Groves is coming in as a true member of the Jacksonville Jaguars. Derrick Harvey is the only unsigned rookie left.

Groves agreed on a deal that will pay him 3.3 million that includes a 1.35 million signing bonus.

Jack Del Rio expressed optimism earlier in the week about signing Harvey, but on Thursday the Jaguars’ coach said there is “nothing [new] to report” regarding the status of the negotiations. Harvey’s agent, Ken Kremer, didn’t return calls Thursday.

Harvey is not the only first rounder to remained unsigned. In fact, only 11 teams have signed their first round draft picks.
